Public comment period now open for WFT accreditation renewal

Washington Farmland Trust received its accreditation from the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) in 2013, a national organization that promotes voluntary private land conservation across the country. LTA’s land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Today, we are applying for renewal of our accreditation, and a public comment period is open through May 3rd, 2024.

During the public comment period, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Washington Farmland Trust complies with national quality standards, which address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. We look forward to sharing our results with you when we hear the Accreditation Commission’s decision on our renewal in the summer of 2024.
